Compensation for persons with war disabilities instead of free sanatorium treatment tickets

Persons with war disabilities, according to the Law on veterans no. 190/2010 and the Regulation on methods of establishment and payment of monetary compensation instead of free health care tickets to persons with war disabilities, approved by Government Decision no. 868/2004, at their choice, instead of treatment tickets they may apply for monetary compensation every two calendar years.

To receive compensation, persons with war disabilities shall apply to the TOSI of their place of residence, and persons with war disabilities from the power institutions whose identity and quality fall under the terms of the Law no. 245/2008 on state secrecy shall apply to the NOSI.

The following documents shall be submitted upon request:

a) original and a copy of the identity card confirming the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova;

b) original and a copy of the veteran's identity card issued by the appropriate bodies;

c) original and a copy of the certificate issued by the appropriate bodies confirming that the disability was caused by military or special service;

d) where appropriate, the conclusion of the forensic expert's report on the causal link between the disability (injury, trauma, contusion) and the illness (disease) and the performance of military or special service;

e) statement from the personal social insurance account, issued by the NOSI/TOSI, in accordance with the model approved by the NOSI;

f) certificate confirming that in the last two years he/she has not received a ticket through other structures (territorial social assistance structure, or, in the case of persons employed, from the workplace). 

 

 

The size of the cash compensation in lieu of free balneo-sanatorium treatment ticket for persons with war disabilities is determined annually by the Board of Directors of the National Office of Social Insurance and coordinated with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection.

In 2023, the amount of the cash compensation in lieu of free balneo-sanatorium treatment ticket was set at 7970 MDL, for the unused entitlement in 2021-2022.21-2022.
