    Survivor pension

    The survivor pension is granted if the deceased was in receipt of an old age or disability pension or was eligible for a disability pension.

    The survivor pension is granted to the following categories:

    1) to the children up to the age of 18 or, if they continue their education in daytime educational institutions (secondary, secondary vocational and higher education), up to the age of 23, shall be calculated in the amount of 75% for each survivor, but not less than the amount of the social allowance for loss of breadwinner.   

    2) to the surviving spouse if, at the time of the death of the breadwinner or within 5 years after the death, he/she has reached retirement age or has been classified as severely or markedly disabled, has been married to the deceased for at least 15 years and has not remarried, in the amount of 50%;

    3) to the surviving spouse or guardian (trustee) caring for children under the age of 3 of the deceased breadwinner, during periods of non-employment or leave for childcare up to the age of 3, in the amount of 50%.

    - identity card (original and copy);

    - death certificate of the breadwinner (original and copy);

    - child's birth certificate (original and copy);

    - certificate of education of the child aged 18 to 23;

    - marriage certificate (original and copy);

    - supporting documents confirming that the spouse or guardian is not working and is caring for the deceased breadwinner's children who have not reached the age of three;

    -  the deceased breadwinner's employment record book (original), copy to be submitted if the employment record book has not been scanned;

    - other documents confirming the deceased breadwinner's insurance period;

    - diploma of studies at the daytime section of higher educational institutions (up to 01.01.1999) (original and copy);

    - military service record (original and copy) or documents confirming the period of military service of the deceased breadwinner;

    - other documents as appropriate.

    - The survivor's pension is established for the period of entitlement from the date of death of the breadwinner if the application and the necessary documents are submitted within 90 days of that date;

    - In cases where the time limit for submitting the application has been exceeded, the pension is granted from the date of submission of the last required document;

    - Examination period - 60 days from the date of submission of the application with all the necessary documents.
