In accordance with the provisions of the Law on social aid, no. 133-XVI of June 13, 2008 and the Government Decision no. 1167 of October 16, 2008 "For the approval of the Regulation on the method of establishment and payment of social aid" the National Office of Social Insurance is responsible for the payment of social aid.

The payment of social aid is made for the previous month by the payment method selected by the beneficiary and available within the government electronic payment service (MPay). The National Office of Social Insurance is responsible for keeping records of social assistance payments.

The amount of social aid established and not claimed by the beneficiary within 12 consecutive months is suspended. Payment of the suspended social aid amount is resumed on the basis of the request of the beneficiary or the representative appointed by proxy and the applicant's identity card, submitted to the territorial social assistance structure, and is paid retroactively for a period of 12 months prior to the date of application.
