The main functions of the General directorate are:

1)  the coordination of the processes of execution, monitoring and achievement report of state policies in the NOSI’s areas of activity;

2)  the planning, monitoring and  reporting on NOSI’s activity;

3)  the contribution to the NOSI’s institutional development through the analysis of the activity processes and of the public services provided;

4)    the organization and implementation of internal policies of integrity and   anticorruption within NOSI, by ensuring of institutional integrity of NOSI;

5)  the ensuring of access to information attributed to the state secret, including the maintenance of classified secretarial work within NOSI;

6)   the coordination of the activities of the organization, maintenance and development of the Internal Control Management System (ICMS) within NOSI;

7)   the ensuring of an effective communication of NOSI with the general public, civil society representatives and media for the purpose of providing an immediate, operative, reliable and comprehensive information to society regarding the activity of the authority;

8)   the organization of the document workflow management and the maintenance of secretarial work, with the ensuring of proper functioning of the archive within the headquarter of NOSI.
