The main functions of the General directorate are:
1) the elaboration and submission the proposals concerning the state policy in the area of social insurance, as well as the improvement of the legislation;
2) the advising of draft normative acts drawn up by other central public administration authorities and by NOSI’s subdivisions;
3) the ensuring of legal activity within the public social insurance system;
4) the measures of legal proceedings in response to legal irregularities detected in the field of social insurance;
5) the representation of interests of NOSI in a court of law and other institution;
6) the administration of the insolvency procedure of the state social insurance budget taxpayers;
7) the monitoring of the administrative and litigation procedures.
