The main functions of the General directorate are:

1)   the ensuring of the achievement of NOSI’s objectives through legal advice in the field of public social insurance system;

2)  the ensuring of improving of the legal framework in the field of state social insurance;

3)   the ensuring of promoting a positive image of the National Office of Social Insurance at national and international level;

4)    the immediate implementation, within the scope of the powers delegated to it, of the provisions of the international agreements in the field of social security to which the Republic of Moldova is party;

5)  the monitoring of the implementation of the provisions of the international agreements in the field of social security to which the Republic of Moldova is party;

6)   the promoting and monitoring of an effective collaboration between the National Office of Social Insurance with international organizations in the area of social security and its counterparts in other states in order to participate to related projects and Community and Regional programmers, as well as the experience obtaining in the extensive process of reforming and modernizing of the state social insurance system.
